Come and join the Muddy Fork team, working from a tranquil, beautiful garden within the Idle Valley Nature Reserve, working within our garden offers a unique and special work environment.

To be part of the Muddy Fork team, it is essential that you have an interest in Mental Wellbeing, working alongside like minded people who not only want to grow our charity, making our services available to as many people as possible, but also work to strengthen and expand the facilities and support we currently offer.


Current Vacancies

Garden Co-ordinator

The garden co-ordinator is a leadership role, being in attendance on each of the days that our sessions operate, you will oversee all projects within the garden whilst ensuring successful management of the volunteer workforce.

The garden provides a much needed space for our participants to relax and feel at ease, our volunteer workforce will complete tasks and projects as required. 

We have a very successful 'Pantry', where we sell our produce and custom products, working alongside the Liaison Co-ordinator, it is important to ensure that we are able to grow the garden in-line with demand and the future vision for the 'Pantry'.

The role is for 16 hours per week.

Liaison Co-ordinator

The liaison co-ordinator is very much a commercial / networking role. Overseeing the successful 'Pantry' side of Muddy Fork, providing an outlet for our produce and custom products. 

We currently have a number of successful relationships within the local community, some of these purchase our produce, some support us with fundraising and sponsorship. These relationships are crucial to provide the necessary income for our charity to not only keep being able to operate but also provide us with the much needed opportunities to grow.

This role will be a mixture of working within the garden and also from home.

The role is for 16 hours per week.

 

Safeguarding Trustee

Muddy Fork offers an invaluable service to our participants. We accept self-referrals, referrals from GP's and other services. As all of our participants come to us with a range of Wellbeing needs, safeguarding plays a very important role within our charity.

We are looking for someone with a background or experience of safeguarding. The appointed person will sit on the board, alongside our other trustees and have primary responsibility for developing and establishing the charity's approach to safeguarding participants. You will also be responsible for managing referrals, the successful enrolment of new participants, putting in place and maintaining procedures which safeguard all of our participants, manage any safeguarding concerns where relevant and where required, represent the charity at meetings relating to safeguarding. 


This role is an essential and crucial role within our charity, but working alongside the other trustees, you will be part of a very supportive and rewarding board.

This role is voluntary.

 

Health & Safety Trustee

We are looking for someone with a background or experience of health & safety. The appointed person will sit on the board, alongside our other trustees and have primary responsibility for ensuring all of our team comply with safety legislation and that all our health & safety policies and practices are adopted and adhered to.

It will be your responsibility to carry out risk assessments, create safe operational procedures of hazardous equipment, lead any required training for volunteers or employees, record incidents / accidents and ensure this is reported to the other trustees, provide advise on specialist areas (Fire Regulations / Hazardous Substances / Operation of Machinery / Other Identified Hazards) and carry out inspections to ensure that policies and procedures are being adhered to.

This role is an essential and crucial role within our charity, but working alongside the other trustees, you will be part of a very supportive and rewarding board.

This role is voluntary.
